The Barber and the Surgeon

A moral story
When my friend used to tell the following story. Long ago, there were not many surgeons. There were some doctors, but in many villages all operations were performed by a barber.The barber cut the villager's nails with a flat blade of very fine steel. If anyone had a boil or skin problems, he would go to the barber, and the barber would open the boil and drain out the pus after sterilizing the blade in the fire.
The doctors were soon concerned about the barber doing all the operations and that they were not getting any patients.
They held a conference and decided that one of them would train the barber.
So the barber was called, and the doctor started explaining and giving him training. He said to the barber, "You are very intelligent. Every day you do so many operations. We will teach you, since there is so much more that you can learn from us."
Then he started explaining about the tissues in the body and their location, and how an operation was to be done so that the surgery would not cause more problems. He explained all the things that could go wrong if the surgery was not done the right way. He talked about the different parts of the body and the great care that needed to be taken to follow correct procedures, and that even small mistakes could cause serious problems.
The barber was trying to grasp all the information, and was taking notes.The barber thanked the doctor and went home. But when he was faced with the next patient he was really confused with all the new knowledge he had gained. He thought of all the possible mistakes and how they could harm the person. He finally decided he did not want to do any surgeries. He asked the people to go to the doctors.
His ignorance disappeared as he acquired knowledge. Like most ignorant people, he had been making many mistakes.
We have knowledge inside. If we remain in this knowledge, then we will never have ignorance. Our ignorance always leads us to delusion, illusion, and error. So, one should remain in knowledge and consciousness, which come from the soul.
