The Desire to Learn |
One of my disciples in Germany had the desire to learn the English language because I usually speak in English. She purchased books and learned how to read. Taking my guidance, she completed the first three books within six months. Then, within two years, she could translate my discourses in English into German. She loved to translate when I was lecturing. So, desire is important.
She was listening to me, and translating as I was talking. The English and German languages have some similarities, which helped to some extent. I asked if she understood what I was saying. She said she could understand if she listened with concentration by fixing her attention on the soul and inhaling slowly.
My art teacher at school was in a car accident. Thrown from the car, his right hand was badly injured and had to be amputated. He was in the hospital for one month. When he returned to school, the headmaster said, "How can you teach the students drawing? You have no right hand." The teacher humbly replied, "I still have my left hand. You will see.'
The desire to learn |
He went to the board, took the pencil and put a dot in the middle. He then took the pencil in the left hand and drew a perfect circle. During his month's stay in the hospital, he had practiced drawing with his left hand, since his livelihood depended on it. So he mastered it.
If your desire is great, your whole flesh, skin, bone, marrow, blood vessels, eyes, ears, nose become the power of God, and you can feel it. If you practice with deep desire, then you will be successful in any field of activity.
